General Orientation

Psychotherapy and consultation practice working with adults, families, children and adolescents.  In private practice for over 30 years.

I use a number of approaches to help clients.  Some of these treatment orientations include a blend of psychodynamic, somatic awareness, mindfulness, social/emotional education, cognitive behavioral, and EMDR, to name a few. How a person's therapy develops is based primarily on an individual's needs along with a broad and extensive understanding of the human psyche, spirit and behavior. Patterns of psychological, emotional, sensate (physical), and spiritual processes are explored. I don't believe that one, or even a few methods work for everyone. We are all more complicated.

In order to help, I do my best to understand and connect with clients as fully as possible.  Years of this work have lead to humbleness.  Change, however defined, often takes time, attention, and care.
