My work with adults varies depending on a person’s goals and needs. In general, I join a person in exploring how past and current circumstances are affecting choices, feelings, behavior and relationships. We all adapt to our family of origin to some degree. Sometimes those adaptations: coping, feeling, thinking, behaving, are no longer helpful. Changing those patterns is often very difficult, and undoing them may be painful.
Looking inward, observing and holding our patterns with kindness and care is a way to develop and free ourselves personally, in relationship and spiritually. We need to know and accept ourselves and open to our true feelings before we can change. It's rare that anyone is able to do this on their own. It often takes empathy, attention, nuanced attunement and sometimes a push to help a person experience what we avoid, where we are blocked, stuck or have a blind spot.
I help in this process with presence and care, and have an innate, intuitive talent for knowing where to focus and what needs to change. Unfortunately, and actually fortunately, (in terms of growing and evolving) we all have "stuff" to work on. Sometimes an issue presents itself as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, stress, substance abuse and countless other symptoms. There may be an experience of missing a deeper sense of satisfaction, fulfillment, connection, freedom and joy. I am able to work effectively with these struggles and they are often intertwined.
